How to Pick the Best Mother’s Day Gift EVER!

by Anne

I have a confession to make today.  Want to hear it?  Ok…here I go….

I hate receiving flowers as a gift.

Now you may be asking yourself, “Why would this wonderful woman hate flowers as a gift?”

The answer is simple – gifts mean more when they’re personalized to the person you’re giving them to.

To me, flowers aren’t personal – they’re a cop-out.  You couldn’t figure out what to buy her so you fell back on the “gift of last resort”.

Com on, guys (and gals)!!!  Let’s get personal!

(And now I have that song running through my head…. “Let’s get physical…physical!” – Augh!)

When you go shopping for your mom’s Mother’s Day gift, think about the things she loves to do.  Some moms really do love to cook, so I new cookbook from her favorite celebrity chef or the latest coolest appliance would be good for her.  Maybe your mama likes to garden – get her a gift card to a local garden store or buy her new tools.  If your mom is a big reader, get her a gift card to Amazon or one of the new cool e-readers everyone’s talking about.

The sky (and your budget) is your limit!!!

So, get out there today, boys and girls, and find something personal for your Mama today!

I’m back!

by Anne

The move is finally over and I’m back to sing and dance for you once again!  For my next number- *stops*  Okay, maybe not sing and dance (too many of the neighbor’s dogs complain when I sing) but I am back to writing reviews about cool household and kid stuff from all over the internet.

Things are going to be a bit slower around here for a bit.  I just picked up a part-time contract job that is taking over my life for the next few weeks but don’t worry – I AM BACK!  Expect more reviews, more cool stuff, and most importantly, more fun! So hold on to your hats!  ;-)

Hiatus

While recovering from my sinus ick, life decided to come along and literally yank the carpet out from under our feet.  As such, the kids and I have to move by the end of next month.  Now, I know that sounds like I lot of time but because of the crappy economy and high rents in our area ($1200+ for a 2 bedroom hovel – HAHAHAHA!), we’re moving in with friends.  This means I now have to par down our 2-bedroom-apartment-worth of stuff so it can fit into one master bedroom and a tiny 3′x3′ storage unit.

I’ll pause here so the moms out there can stop laughing….

Anyway, I’ve decided that it’s best if I set Busy Mom Reviews on the back burner for a month or so while I clean, sort, toss, give away, and sell most of our belongings while still trying to keep up with the daily grind and my more demanding clients and deadlines.

If you are a writer / blogger and would like to submit a guest blog entry or two during this time, please feel free to contact me using the page link above and we can work something out.  Posts should be about home, family, and kids, include no more than 2 backlinks to your website, and include no affiliate links.  It should be written in conversational tone and have no grammatical or spelling mistakes.  I, as the editor of this website, get final say.  You won’t get paid for your article / blog entry but you do get some free publicity and backlink juice.

Sick!

It seems that I came down with a sinus infection over the weekend, which knocked me on my butt today and sent me running for some antibiotics and my bed.  Be back in a few days….Until then, stay well!

AeroGarden 2101-00B Classic Garden 7-Pod With Gourmet Herb Seed Kit – Black

This is a great way to start an indoor “salad garden”.   What is a salad garden?  Well, it’s a little bit of everything you’d find in a salad – lettuce, spinach, endive, and herbs – all stuff you love to nibble on!  YUM!
